A Note For The Christmas Season. (Plus Life update)
Hello Friends!
I have missed you all so much, as you probably have noticed I have been quite distant on Dear Keely over the past couple months, this is because I’ve been in a crazy season of transition. I have moved to America, to a small town out of Dallas, TX. As you can imagine moving is a big deal, especially moving to another country. It requires a lot of energy (of all kinds), thinking, planning, packing, decisions ect.
Thankfully that is all over, I am here and I am ready to dive right back in to writing and all kinds of creative projects. I am so excited for this next season and for everything that God is going to do in all of our lives. I am loving texan living and enjoying all kinds of Christmassy goodness.
A little note for what I believe God is doing this
Christmas season:
In worship recently I saw a picture of people with these banners over their heads, this reminded of a certain bible verse.
Let Him lead me to the banquet hall, and let His banner over me be love.
– Song of Songs 2:4
I heard God immediately say the banner over my children was always and is always love. You see, the picture I saw with the banners over people’s heads, mostly didn’t have love written on them. I saw words like fear, shame, lack, offence, bitterness and grief. Then I saw God come and rewrite the words on the banners that are over us, the incredible thing was He didn’t just rewrite the banner, He gave us a whole new, fresh, clean, banner. He wrote upon the new banner. He took that old banner threw it on the ground and burnt it, until there was not a single trace of the struggle left.
There will be no single trace of the struggle left!
There is not going to be a single trace of the struggle you have been facing left. No more fear, no more lack, no more offence!
This is what I believe God is doing this Christmas season. It requires a yes in our hearts though.
To receive the new word, the old needs to be surrendered and given to Him. Especially when identity has been taken from the things that have held you back. You are not your struggle!
You are not your struggle!
let’s pray and ask God to come and take that old banner that we have held over ourselves and believed, sometimes even taken identity from. Watch the fear be destroyed and love come. Watch the stress be destroyed and peace come.
He will turn all things around!
What is the old word you have been carrying?
What is God writing on the new banner?
Watch how He can turn everything around this Christmas season. He takes all things and makes them new, no banner is too hard for Him to get rid of. No fear is too big for Him to take away and wash His love over. We can not take identity from the struggle, but we must come with open hearts and watch as He writes His ‘Love’ on the banner that is over us.
Watch Him write His love over you this Christmas season.
Merry Christmas,
Keely Hughes.
Lauren
