Dream On Dreamer
Dreamers are sometimes looked at as people with their heads in the clouds with no grip on reality & on “real” things. Although that can be true to some extent, that does not mean to dream, means to be naive & incapable, in fact I think it’s quite different.
Everyone is originally a dreamer.
Some people haven’t dreamt since they got told off in primary school for day dreaming all the time & not being present..
Others are something I like to call closet dreamers, they just rarely share their dreams with others out of fear of man, fear of failure, embarrassment or shame.
Some dream but it’s just small.
Others dream big occasionally when they are feeling inspired.
Some people just dream, dreams of all sizes, often!
No matter which one of these you are, allow yourself to dream even bigger dreams! Dreaming big is not wishing on a star or living in some fantasy realm. Dreaming big shows how big you see God. How you dream reflects how you see God.
“How you dream reflects how you see God.”
Have you ever heard a quote somewhat similar to this? “You are capable of incredible things, so dream big..” This style of quote is implying you should see yourself as greater to have greater dreams. That would imply that the size of your dreams are the size of how you perceive yourself to be capable. It’s not about what you can do though, it’s about what God can do! Yes, you are amazing and you are capable of incredible things, but you can only do all things, because it is Him that gives you strength. It is not by your power, your strength, your might, it is by His spirit! It’s not about you, it’s about Him. It’s about how good He is, how powerful He is and what He wants to do through our lives.
“It’s not about what you can do, it’s about what God can do!”
Your dreams should reflect how faithful He is, how big His love is and how good God is! Your dreams reflect how you see Him, so let your dreams get bigger!
Do you believe He has good plans for you? Do you believe He loves you with an extravagant love? Do you believe He is good, like really? Do you know He believes in you more than you believe in yourself? Do you know He is so faithful and so, so trustworthy? He never fails, never makes mistakes, never passes you by! Do you believe that?
Do you believe that He has good plans for you & is so so faithful?
When we dream, dreams of all sizes often, we are able to recognise that it is God who gives good things and He gives good things much more often than we realise. When we dream often, we will often see dreams come true.
“When we dream often, we will often see dreams come true.”
God is a good Father and He loves to give good gifts!!
When we believe that He is good, that He loves us and that He has amazing plans for us, dreaming comes naturally!
It’s God’s design to dream, not so that we can be lead to dissapointment, but to excersize faith, trust, childlikness and to increase the capacity of our vision. He doesn’t disappoint!
“It’s God’s design to dream.”
He is not a Father that He should lie, He doesn’t throw things around to tease us about not being able to have it. He shows us things so we can see and get excited about them!! He doesn’t give you a menu if you’re never going to taste the food on it or not allowed to. He doesn’t say that’s too expensive or here is a picture of the food other people will eat.. He shows you so you can know what’s possible; what He can do. He shows you bigness to increase your faith, not to make you feel small.
He shows you bigness, to increase your faith & get you to dream for the “big.”
If there’s a menu with everything you can think of and God says, “what would you like to eat, you can have anything?” Why would you choose the smallest thing that doesn’t excite you at all, when He’s planning to take you and give you something great, that you will adore!
Why would we dream small, when He plans the best?! He actually wants us to be excited! Who likes giving a gift to someone if they don’t really like it?
“Why would we dream small, when He plans the best?!”
Dreaming is not ordering something, that would be entitlement. You get to dream because of His goodness, you are not entitled to dream and to order things.
It just comes down to knowing that God loves to bless us. He placed dreams & desires in us for a purpose, so we shouldn’t ignore them. He is asking us, what do you want daughter, what do you want son? He already knows because He placed the desire there anyway, but He wants us to dream of these things!
Don’t dream with your skill, ability, finances or strength in mind. Dream with His ability, His strength, His spirit & His goodness in mind.
The more we dream about what God will use us for, the more we become aware of how Good and how capable God is.
When we experience a dream, we know that it’s a gift and He’s been preparing us for that gift. It’s not us that got us there, it’s Him that got us there. It was always His design and plan.
“When we experience a dream come true, we know that it’s a gift.”
Don’t be afraid to dream, but let your faith be increased. He is bigger than your biggest dreams. Don’t ignore the things God puts in your heart. Trust Him with them, surrender your dreams to Him, be filled with passion, faith, courage & belive the truth that He has amazing plans for your life!!
