His Whisper Roars Louder Than A Thousand Screams
These past two weeks have been wild and wonderful! Last week, after crazy hustling, I finished High School Forever!! (HALLELUJAH!!) Then this week I flew to America to go to The Young Saints conference at Bethel church in Redding, California. The conference was beyond incredible!
As I was flying into San Francisco airport, it was just the early stages of dawn and oh my goodness was it stunning. I was feeling surprisingly awake after only a few hours of broken sleep, but I was in awe as I watched the sun pierce through the darkness, with a subtle, yet powerful strength. From that moment God just started speaking to me.
“His whisper roars louder than a thousand screams.”
God’s whisper of truth, love and grace roars louder than a thousand screams. If you have ever stood in the midst of thousands of screams then you know, it is unbelievably loud, so loud that it actually hurts your ears and makes it harder for you to hear. Even after it’s stopped your ears are still ringing. These are the screams that hurt you. They are the voices of fear that we all have listened to at some point, all they do is hurt us though.
Just one whisper from Jesus though, can shake you to the core. Sometimes we as humans can struggle with “trying” to hear the voice of God.. But we overlook His whispers, the ones that are SO much louder than any scream of fear or insecurity… His whisper is more powerful that the shout of death, than the shout of torment. Our God is secure in the words that He speaks, He knows they’re true, because He is true. He’s not shouting in your face – because who would even like that anyway? He’s not fighting to be the loudest, He’s not fighting to shout over other voices. He created us to recognise His whisper, we respond naturally to His whisper. Therefore it roars louder than any scream, because it is the voice that connects, it’s the voice of peace, of love and of truth.
He’s whispering to you…
Don’t worry though, you can definitely hear it! His whisper roars louder than a thousand screams! In a flood of fearful shouts, His whisper is the one of peace and love & that is more powerful than any scream. Let’s not overlook His whisper; the secure voice of truth and love. So often we look for the loudest voice, when that could mean looking for person around you who is screaming with fear.. That is not a voice that should have influence over you! (Speaking theoretically, not literally, but also literally)
So often as humans we grab ahold of the scream of terror, rather than the whisper of truth. The whisper of truth is so much easier for us to hear, we just talk ourselves out of it in an attempt to not get our hopes up, or from the fear of being disappointed. Why even listen to a voice that makes you feel sick and afraid? Really. Let’s not allow the voice of fear to consume us, but let’s listen and receive His comforting, loving voice of absolute truth.
We were created to receive from Him! Just like how a sponge naturally soaks up water, we naturally receive from God. If a sponge tried to take any other form than a sponge to try and soak up water, all it would be doing is sabotaging itself. It wouldn’t soak up water, because it would no longer be a sponge! We try to receive and by “trying” we actually are just like a sponge taking on another form to soak up water, when we were created to be a sponge, to be a vessel, so of course we’re going to receive. Of course we hear His truth, of course we receive from what He is doing, of course we receive His love. It’s a lie that you can not receive. You receive every day, we just need to stop training ourselves to receive from the wrong voice and start just receiving from the voice that’s whisper even roars with truth!
“I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God.”

So profound Keely. Thank you so much – very precious. I really receive this as both a powerful encouragement and as sound and wise word of counsel. I love the analogy of the sponge. It encourages me to relax! I am made to hear His still small voice – don’t fret – it only leads to harm. Thank you once again. Be bountifully blessed with His goodness this day?
