The Pursuit

At my church (Pour It Out Church) on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, I am one of the youth leaders.

We just had a youth camp, it was Four  glorious days with the most amazing teenagers encountering God’s presence together! We have seen lives transformed, hearts healed, salvations, lifelong friendships established and significant encounters take place! It was an amazing time & I am so so grateful for everything that God did and is doing!

The theme of our camp was “The Pursuit!”

Let’s talk about that!

First of all Jesus pursued us.
We love because He first loved us! He pursues us every day of our lives, He is after us, He is pursuing our hearts and is so in love with us! He died on the cross in our place, because He was pursuing us and relationship with us! We are His pursuit!

When we have the revelation of His pursuit of us, we realise the power of pursuing Him and His presence!

We are not on a pursuit of Him because He is running away from us, or not close to us, we are on a pursuit of Him, because He is pursuing us.

What is the pursuit of Him?

The pursuit of Him is being hungry for more of Him, it’s seeking His goodness, it’s pursuing His presence (which is creating a place for His presence in your daily life.) The pursuit of God can simply look like being hungry for Him and creating a place for God to move.

It starts with saying yes! Saying yes to salvation; saying yes to Him coming into your heart. Then there is another yes, a yes to pursuing Him & dedicating your life to going after the more of God.

The revelation of His pursuit of us, stirs us to pursue Him. When we know just how deeply He loves us and the fact that He would have died for you on the cross, if you were the only one to say yes to Him, it changes how we think about it! Wow! Doesn’t that make it so personal! That revelation is the beginning of falling in love with Him. When you love someone, you want to know their heart and know what makes them feel loved. It’s the same with God.

Let’s pursue the more of Him, let’s be like David, people after His heart. We are not pursuing His heart, because it’s hidden, but because it’s not! His heart is open to us! He is inviting us into His heart, to experience what makes His heart beat and what He is passionate about. All of it! His heart is open to us!

Let’s be lovers of God. Do we realise how much our love of God affects Him? He loves us so much that He would die for us, so of course when we love on Him & pursue His heart, it fills Him with joy!

He is after our hearts, we are His great pursuit and He is opening His heart up and inviting us in! Will we pursue His heart, not because it’s hidden, but because it’s not?

Would you just pray this simple salvation prayer and say yes to Him: it’s the most important, joyful, & powerful decision you will ever make!
