The Song
HELLO…
Can you imagine what it would be like to be the inspiration of a song, to be the very essence of a melody? What would it sound like? Well, it happens everyday, every single moment. In fact before time even existed I believe God had a song in His heart and that song was you.
He created each of us with a unique song, a unique melody. This is the song, which our life sings. It is everything we are, it is our identity in Him, it is the passions, the dreams, the choices in our heart and the decisions of our steps. Everything that makes us, us is part of the song He put in us. It’s the best of us, it is how He sees us, it is who we are, what we are called to, and it is the mission of our lives. We all carry a unique aspect of the glory of God, so that means if there is someone in your life that you struggle to “get,” all you need to do is ask God to reveal to you the song that He placed inside of them. Ask Him to show you how He sees them. Completely off topic, but this is why I love the prophetic, it’s just asking God to show you how He made someone, to allow you to hear that song He placed within a certain person and then you get to come along and sing the song to them. How amazing is that? Anyway, that is how to tune our ears to hear the song that God placed in others, but right now I want to focus on hearing the song He placed in us, because sometimes that is the hardest one to hear.
I believe this song that He placed within you and me, is much more like a harmony rather than a melody. The Bible says that God is singing over us. He is constantly singing, sometimes it’s a shout, sometimes it’s a soothing whisper, but it is always there, you just have to listen. As God is singing over us we get to partner with Him by singing the harmony, this harmony is our lives. To know the harmony, we must be able to hear the melody, but what if we can’t? Well, I can’t fully teach you how to hear His song in just a little blog post. You are just going to have to practice listening, the more you do, the easier it will be and you might be surprised where you find the song. I can tell you too, if you are hearing a song that makes you feel ashamed, unworthy, anxious, fearful, hopeless (basically anything negative) that is NOT the song He is singing over you. His song is full of joy, full of love, peace, hope and courage. His song tells you who you are.
When you do hear that melody though, sing the harmony that is within you as loudly as you can. This is your song and there is only one person (you) who can sing it. If you don’t, the world will never hear it.
There is an invitation to whoever is reading this to partner with Him, partner with His song, listen to His voice and sing. It is my prayer, that we would all, everyday, always hear the song He is singing over us and we would open our mouths and let that harmony out.
